The new project, Pixel State, is now in development! Tonight, I was able to get the board to instantiate and I created some basic sprites. Furthermore, I went ahead and did some menu concepts in the journal and refined my style of coding. I'm trying to annotate my script with more comments so, when things start hitting the thousands-of-lines-of-code mark, I'll still be able to keep my cool and navigate with ease. Of course, I'll be sticking to the pixel aesthetic, so, naturally, the music will be chip tune and the graphics will be choppy. But, that's what I call beautiful <3
After giving it much thought, I was able to design my basic plan for the puzzle war game. I've also decided to go with the name pixel state (as you can see), and chose to focus the game's aesthetics towards pixel art. The idea behind it all is a versus game in which players take turns putting blocks on the board in order to build their state. I really love this idea because the mechanics are fairly simple, but when you take all the possibility of block combinations into perspective, the game becomes a complex competition of consummate strategic ability. A true master piece! :')
I've decided that my next project is definitely going to be a war game. Now, I did run into a couple obstacles while deciding how I'm going to execute this next project. From a top down rpg war game to a pokemon like general collecting war game. In the end, I decided to go with... That's right! A PUZZLE WAR GAME! The best type! But seriously, I'm eager to try my hand at this idea and plan on starting tomorrow. Awesome.
Tomorrow I'll be looking into my next game development project! I just recently got done programming an application I wrote in visual basic. Now it's time to get back into my love for game development! I've always wanted to create a war game, you know, and go through with it 'till the end. So, I think that's what I'll be leaning towards. Hopefully, by tomorrow night, I'll have the idea planned and mapped out for myself to work with over the next couple weeks.
Let's get this next game out for the world to see! Wish me luck buds. Wish me luck. Don't worry! I am alive, and things are going good. The website is not dead and will start being updated regularly. I just started my Junior year of high school and took the past couple weeks in order to get myself into a nice schedule. So, with that set up, I know how much time I can allocate to my hobbies like keeping this company alive and well! Thank you for being patient. Let's get things rolling shall we?
